Edward Enninful was recently appointed as editor-in-chief of British Vogue. He will be replacing Alexandra Shulman who was in charge of the magazine for the past 25 years.
Enninful, who was born in Ghana and raised in London, has been working as the creative and fashion director of W Magazine since 2011 and will now be the first man to take the lead of British Vogue, the main fashion publication in Britain.
Jonathan Newhouse, Condé Nast International chairman and chief executive, stated in the official announcement that Edward Enninful is "“an influential figure in the communities of fashion, Hollywood and music which shape the cultural zeitgeist.”
Besides becoming the youngest ever fashion director of an international publication for i-D Magazine when he was only 18 years old and holding that position for 20 years, Enninful has worked for American Vogue and Italian Vogue. He also styled and consult some major campaigns and fashion shows like Giorgio Armani, Céline, Valentino, Fendi and others.
He will start his new role as editor-in-chief of British Vogue on August 1.
